Bio

Based in Vancouver, B.C. Fresh Goat is an old-school power trio that blends heavy blues with jam-based rock & roll, to create a "new vintage" sound; Bob Chaffey of UK publication, Blues Matters! said "this band will certainly make some ripples".

The group was founded by guitarist-singer/songwriters Alan “Lopez” Woolverton and Tim Anderson as an ensemble jam-band, having fluid line-ups and configurations. In 2009, the band released their debut EP "This Is Fresh Goat" as a conventional quartet. Relix magazine included the debut's single "Freeloading Man" on their July 2010 CD sampler, alongside artists such as Grace Potter & the Nocturnals and The Disco Biscuits.

As the ensemble format became too unwieldy, Lopez and Anderson made the decision to strip down to a no-nonsense trio, with Anderson moving from guitar to bass; the result was a new, heavier blues sound. RJ Williams took control of the drum throne in 2016, with the Goat releasing their version of Howlin' Wolf's classic "Killing Floor" the following year.

In 2018, the trio was back in the studio recording a pair of original singles: the first "Yesterday's Blues" was released that spring, while its follow-up "See The Good" is set to release in the near future.
